We at Smith Chapel Baptist Church are very thankful to have Dr. J.T. Baskins and wife Sister Kathy Baskins as our Pastor and Pastors wife. Dr. Baskins has led the congregation of SCBC for over 34 years. He is a man of prayer and faith that cares for his flock and leads them with the heart of a true shepherd. Dr. Baskins is an old fashion preacher with old fashion values that he stands for while preaching from the King James Bible. Dr. Baskins and Sister Kathy extends to you a warm welcome to attend any of our services at SCBC.

Bro. Tyler was raised in Smith Chapel Baptist Church and was saved in February of 1999 at the age of 6. He surrendered to Gods call to preach on June 16, 2004 at the age of 11 while at youth camp. In 2015, he and Mrs. Sadye were married and have served together in the church since. On March 7th, 2018 the church voted to make him Youth Pastor and was ordained on April 8th, 2018. In September of 2019, God allowed him to go full time as Youth Pastor. Bro. Tyler has a strong desire to serve the Lord, see souls saved and help them grow in the Lord. Bro. Tyler, Mrs. Sadye and their two girls are privileged to call Smith Chapel home.
